Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Load Capacity

What does "UDL" mean?

UDL stands for Uniformly Distributed Load — it refers to the maximum weight a shelf can safely hold when the load is spread evenly across the entire surface.

For example, a shelf rated at 200kg UDL can support up to 200kg when the weight is distributed across the full shelf area. If weight is concentrated in one spot (e.g., a single heavy item placed in the centre), the effective capacity may be lower.

For best results, always distribute your load evenly and avoid exceeding the rated capacity.

Assembly

Is Hubrack shelving easy to assemble?

Yes. Assembly is straightforward — a standard shelving unit can be put together by one person in around 10 minutes. Basic tools are required.

Safety

Do your shelving units come with safety pins?

Yes. Every Hubrack shelving unit includes safety pins on all beam connections. These pins lock the beams securely into the uprights, preventing accidental dislodgement and ensuring the unit remains stable under load.

Are your shelving units suitable for outdoor use?

Our shelving is powder coated for corrosion resistance, but it is designed for indoor or undercover use. Prolonged exposure to rain or direct sunlight may affect the finish over time.

Customisation & Add-ons

Can I add more levels to my existing shelving unit?

Absolutely. You can purchase additional shelf levels separately and add them to your existing Hubrack rack at any time, as long as they match the same width and depth.
